Using fireworks you can give different edges to the images. This tutorial will teach you produce line edged frame. Following are the simple steps.

Step 1

Open an image on the canvas.

Step 2

After selecting the image, click on Filters>Alien Skin Splat LE>Edges.

Step 3

Alien Skin window is opened below. Select Halftone Lines option from Edge Mode.

Step 4

You can adjust the Edge Width, Margin and Feature Size sliders. You can also give a transparent fill for the image by ticking the Transparent Fill option. Adjust the Random Seed value also. Live preview will be available in the right side itself.

Step 5

Line edged frame with transparent fill or colour fill is created.
