Fireworks is an image editing tool which helps in adding a feathering effect to images. By feathering you get smooth and soft edges for a picture/image.

Fireworks help in producing some really cool images with some simple editing. A picture with a sharp edge is not so god to look at. Here we provide the tutorial for getting soft edges and a clean finish to images that you edit. This is very simple and you have to use only the Feather property in Fireworks to make the image softer, smoother and professional. The following are the steps.

1. Select the part of the image that you want to edit. For selecting the part use the lasso tools found in the Fireworks toolbar.

2.After selecting the part, click on Edit>Feather. Enter the number of pixels in the pop up screen appeared. The softness of the picture will depend on the number of pixels.
